AI is reshaping education but without deliberate design it will widen the learning divide. Our new AI Observatory Tools aim to narrow that divide by helping education decision-makers understand what is changing, why it matters, and how to act early to create better learning outcomes for all learners. These tools combine the speed and scale of AI with the insight and expertise of people who understand education systems in low- and middle-income countries. Unlike generic search tools that surface everything online, they focus on what is relevant and actionable.
We have designed these tools to support people who make and influence education decisions in low- and middle-income countries. We invite anyone to try these tools if you are interested in shaping a future where AI is used in ways that help to address the global learning crisis.
This year, we've explored different ways to use AI to spot signals of change in low- and middle-income contexts. We've learnt what works and what doesn't, and are now building on that experience to design tools for public use.
Our team includes experts in education, foresight, and AI. Together, we're combining evidence-based approaches to narrow the learning divide, foresight methods for making sense of change, and the technical skills to build AI tools that turn complex data into practical insight for education decision-makers.
We stay close to the people shaping education. Our tools have been informed by interviews, research, and testing with education decision-makers, ensuring the design responds to real needs.
No. These tools are free to use. EdTech Hub's AI Observatory is made possible with the support of the UK's Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office.

As part of the early access phase, we invite you to use the tool and provide feedback through a short survey or a brief interview. This is optional and will not influence your access to the tools. However if you do offer feedback, your input will be invaluable in helping us refine the tools to meet the needs of decision-makers across diverse education contexts. You can opt-out anytime — instructions for doing so will be provided when you sign up.
